Entrepreneurship and Business Summer Programme for Students Aged 14–17 in London Westminster

The World's Next Great Business Idea Could Be Yours

The world needs people who see things differently. Are you one of them?

Every business that exists today started with one person who had an idea and the courage to act on it. This summer, that person could be you.

Get Ready for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is not a business summer school course. It is a two-week experience in the heart of London Westminster that will change the way you think, the way you communicate and the way you see the world around you. Written by Academic Summer's CEO Helen Lami, this teen entrepreneurship programme is built for the next generation of innovators — students who are curious, creative and ready to make things happen.

You will not sit in a classroom copying notes. You will build, pitch, challenge and create. You will work with ambitious peers from around the world in a global summer school in London. These students who could one day be your business partners, your investors or your colleagues so start your networking in the summer.  You will leave with business skills for life, CPD qualifications and a mindset that most people your age simply do not have yet.

The future belongs to the people who build it.

What will You Study on Get Ready for Entrepreneurship

This is business as it actually works — fast, real and full of possibility.  Forty hours of specialist learning over two weeks, delivered in maximum class sizes of 12 at DLD College Westminster, London.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation From the beginning of an idea to a fully formed business plan, you will learn how new businesses are born, how to identify opportunities in the market and how to think like an entrepreneur. Learn about new business planning, start-ups, small companies and the mindset that separates the people who talk about ideas from the people who build them.

Branding, Marketing and Promotion This is where you get creative! What makes people choose one brand over another? How do you build something people believe in? You will explore marketing fundamentals, market segmentation, promotional strategy, social media marketing and the art of building a brand that stands for something. A visit to the Museum of Brands brings the history and power of marketing to life in one of London's most inspiring cultural destinations.

Business Finance and Personal Budgeting Money is not the enemy of creativity but understanding it brings vision to reality. You will learn financial budgeting, cashflows, financial planning and personal budgeting. The entrepreneurs who last are the ones who understand the numbers.

Technology, AI and the Future of Business This is one of the most important sections of any business programme for teenagers today. The business world is changing faster than ever and AI is at the centre of that change. You will explore how technology and artificial intelligence are changing industries, how to integrate AI tools into your business thinking and how to build the digital skills that every employer will expect from the next generation of leaders. In a world where AI can do the routine, the students who thrive will be the ones who can think critically, lead confidently and use technology with purpose.

Leadership, Teamwork and the DISC Framework The people in your class are not just fellow students, they could be your future business partners. Through the DISC personality framework, team challenges and leadership workshops, you will discover your own leadership style, learn to work with people who think differently and build the critical thinking and team skills that every employer looks for.

Responsible Business and Sustainability The most successful businesses of the next decade will be the ones that do good as well as do well. You will explore business ethics, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and what it means to build something that creates genuine value in the world.

Market Research, Analysis and the Business Environment Every great decision starts with great information. You will learn how to research a market, analyse the competition, understand economic, political and social factors and use data to make smarter decisions. This is the thinking behind every successful business strategy.

Communication, Presentation Skills and Personal Brand In business, how you say something matters as much as what you say. Through presentation workshops, interview skills sessions and personal branding exercises, you will develop the confidence to speak in front of a room, sell an idea and make people believe in you. You will build your LinkedIn profile and write your CV. Your professional identity and your personal statement starts now.

Real-Life Applications Case studies, simulations and scenario planning bring every concept to life. Business legislation, corporate management, project management and customer relations are all explored through real-world examples. You will not just learn about business but you will think through real problems, make real decisions and understand the consequences.

The Enterprise Challenge — Dragon's Den Academic Summer

This is the moment everything comes together.

Working in teams, you will develop a business idea and go right through to the final business presentation — the concept, the brand, the market research and the financial plan. At the end of the programme you will stand in front of a panel of real business experts and pitch your idea Dragon's Den style.

This is not a classroom exercise. This is what it actually feels like to back yourself, defend your ideas and persuade people who know business to believe in what you have built.

You will develop your skills in thinking, debating, presenting and interviewing, as well as building your confidence and communication skills.

Whatever happens in the room, you will walk out a different person. Inspired, challenged and ready for the future.
