Our teaching methodology is based around CLIL: Content and Language Integrated Learning. You study the content of academic subjects and at the same time, improve your English language skills.
ADVENTURERS CLASSES age 9 to 11
Our young adventurers study: English, mathematics, sciences, social studies and arts. Lessons, trips and activities all fit around a weekly theme bringing everything to life. Adventurers' lessons are cross curricular. This means that students in a history lesson may also be developing their skills in drama, design technology and geography. What is really great about this approach is that it allows students to put their learning into practice and to use their strengths in one area to support themselves and others in an area they are less confident in.
ENGAGEMENT CLASSES AGE 15-17 We offer Engagers a good range of academic subjects to choose from. You study in classes of up to ten students and there are 30 hours of study a week. You have four 75-minute lessons per day, attend advisory sessions and assemblies.
You are also introduced to different ways of learning by attending our weekly lecture. You choose the subjects you want to study prior to arrival, and we write your individual timetable around these choices. We offer the following subjects: •Academic French •Art • Biology • Chemistry • Economics, business & entrepreneurship • English • Essay writing• Mathematics • Physics • Presentations & interviews • Social studies • Theory of Knowledge (ToK)
EXPLORATION CLASSES age 12 to 14
Our Explorers study a range of academic subjects in classes of up to ten students. You will study English, mathematics, sciences, social studies and art with us. The medium of instruction is English and there are 30 hours of study a week. Explorers learn valuable study skills to help them in their academic careers and are introduced to different ways of learning which includes attending our weekly lecture.
We integrate content (academic subject matter) and language development following the IB MYP’s liberal approach to learning. Discovery and exploration are more highly valued than simply learning what is taught. We want you to develop your competence in the communicative use of English as an international language whether you are a native or non-native speaker of English.

Work for us
Academic Camp Switzerland is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects its staff to share this commitment.
In the summer we employ a team of teachers who are qualified to teach their subjects and have experience in teaching A-Level, the IB, Advanced Placement and ESL.
As well as experience we are looking for teachers that have enthusiasm and a love for their subjects. We like our teachers to make content interesting and the lessons will be a mixture of theory and practical work.
We also look for enthusiastic camp counsellors. We employ active young people who are comfortable leading groups of students for a range of activities and trips. You must be flexible and have a few activity ideas up your sleeve!
Staff can work from one to six weeks with us in Switzerland. Teachers can work one to four teaching blocks a week and there is the opportunity to take part in additional counsellor work. We offer competitive rates of pay.
