Get Ready for Engineering Online

31st July - 14th August 2021

‘Get Ready for Engineering online’ is a two-week online course tailored for students age 15+ who want to explore which engineering discipline is best for them. The course is taught by engineering students and graduates and they will inspire and advise you from their personal experiences. The course is accredited by CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and will give you a CPD qualification for 40 hours.

Course aims:

  • to expose you to the world of engineering and to explore the different disciplines that engineering offers
  • to apply maths and physics skills to real-life applications
  • to explore the core engineering disciplines using case studies, debates and research
  • to provide a head start to engineering, by giving an insight into the fundamentals of engineering, as well as interview and personal statement practice
  • to develop transferable skills and enhance your portfolio

Leisure Online

Academic Summer @home has a great online leisure and social program. We enjoyed being creative planning this for you - we promise you lots of fun and interesting and challenging activities. You will make friends, learn useful things and develop your leadership skills. Activities will help you to be Creative, Active and offer Service to others.


We will send you a calendar of activities and you can choose what to join using Zoom links. Here is a taster of what we are offering this summer:

Dates & Fees

Dates: 31st July - 14th August 2021

Fees: 750 GBP / 1200 CAD / 900 CHF per week (choose the currency you pay in)

The fees per week include:

  • 40 hours academic study

  • Live online tuition with a tutor (Choose 08.00 to 11.00 BST or 16.00 to 19.00 BST)

  • Guided self-study tasks and projects to do at home

  • Small group learning – max. 6 students on MS Teams

  • Mentor / advisory groups 

  • Access to Leisure Online (Monday to Friday activities available)

  • Live streaming of lectures, meetings & other events

  • Certificate and a report from your teachers
