Get Ready for IELTS/TOEFL @home is the perfect preparation course for this internationally-recognised qualification from Cambridge Assessment, the exams division of Cambridge University - a placement exam that can be taken online. 

This one-week course is equally suitable for students aged 15+, who are taking the IELTS/TOEFL Academic module or IELTS UKVI test, as well as for students applying to a top-tier UK university. The course also caters for people looking to get an internationally-recognized certificate to show their level of achievement in English. 

Get Ready for IELTS/TOEFL @home will enhance your knowledge, confidence and skills to enable you to achieve your best results in all four modules of the exams:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Listening
  • Speaking

Our course is an intensive 25 hour programme in small groups of maximum 6 students. You will cover the four areas of the IELTS/TOEFL exam, so you become familiar with all sections of the exam and what you need to do to achieve the best results. You find how IELTS/TOEFL is assessed and be given tips and hints to help you. You will learn lots of useful exam techniques to get you ready for the IETLS/TOEFL exam. Your tutor will give you self-study tasks and plenty of practice tests for you to do at home. Naturally, you will get constructive feedback and clear understanding what to focus on.

  • reading activities to help you develop your skimming and scanning skills,
  • vocabulary and grammar building,
  • individual tutorials and speaking practice,
  • writing practice and assessment,
  • practice exams,
  • Over 25 hours of learning
    • 24 hours - 6 hour each skill
    • 10 hours live online tuition
    • 14 hours guided self study tasks & practice exams
    • 1 hour one to one session


Methodology: Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)

You will 

- enhance your content knowledge in key curriculum subjects and topics that often apear in the IETLS/TOEFL exams

- explore culture to get in in small online groups
- develop your cognition and higher order thinking skills (critical, logical, reflective, metacognitive and creative thinking). You will work on your learning and exam techniques to help you prepare for IELTS/TOEFL
- Work on your communication skills in the English langauge. For example, you need to be able to understand what the questions is asking in the exam and have good writing skills to communicate the best answer.

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System and is designed to test the language ability of students who want to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, where English is used as the language of communication. Over 9000 organisations worldwide accept IELTS as proof of language ability.

Leisure Online

Academic Summer @home has a great online leisure and social program. We enjoyed being creative planning this for you - we promise you lots of fun and interesting and challenging activities. You will make friends, learn useful things and develop your leadership skills. Activities will help you to be Creative, Active and offer Service to others.

Dates & Fees

Dates: IELTS: 19th to 23rd July 2021 / TOEFL: 26th - 30th July 2021

Fees: 750 GBP / 1200 CAD / 900 CHF per week (choose the currency you pay in)

The fees per week include:
