Get Ready for Top Grades @home

12th - 16th July 2021 / 9th - 13th August 2021

Our one-week intensive Get Ready for Top Grades @home course is for students who: 
  • are age 14 to 17 years old
  • want to push themselves to achieve top grades in their exams
  • want to improve their exam technique
  • are looking for a preparation course to help with further study 
  • are looking for an intensive and focused programme of study  

Methodology: Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) 

You will: 
  • enhance your content knowledge in key areas covered in exams and assessment 
  • explore culture together in small online groups 
  • develop your cognition and higher order thinking skills (critical, logical, reflective, metacognitive and creative thinking).  
  • work on your communication skills in the English language including spoken and written academic English. 


Your work is marked by the teachers each day and feedback is given. You are assessed on your academic performance and attitude towards learning in lessons and this assessment is documented in your weekly report. You are given an A-D grade with A representing excellent effort and consistent positive attitude to learning and D representing unsatisfactory effort and achievement. We celebrate the individuality of our students and your achievement is benchmarked against your own ability and goals. 

The academic programme  

Our course is an intensive 25 hours. In that time, you will study a range of academic preparation areas. You will practice writing essays, answering multiple choice questions and presenting information to a group.    
Areas of study covered include:  
  • reading activities to help you develop your skimming and scanning skills 
  • vocabulary and grammar building  
  • individual tutorials and speaking practice
  • essay writing for different criteria
  • presentation skills 
  • interview skills 
  • answering multiple choice and rapid response questions  
  • understanding assessment criteria
  • identifying your strengths and weaknesses and how to improve
  • exam technique
  • Theory of Knowledge; understanding and expressing knowledge 
  • Critical thinking skills 

Dates & Fees

Dates: 12th - 16th July 2021 / 9th - 13th August 2021

Fees: 750 GBP / 1200 CAD / 900 CHF per week (choose the currency you pay in)

The fees per week include:

  • 24 hours active study
  • ​10 hours live on-line tuition 
  • 14 hours guided self-study tasks & practice exams 
  • 1 hour one-to-one session 
  • Live online tuition with a tutor (Choose 08.00 to 11.00 BST or 16.00 to 19.00 BST)

  • Guided self-study tasks and projects to do at home

  • Small group learning – max. 6 students on MS Teams

  • Mentor / advisory groups 

  • Access to Leisure Online (Monday to Friday activities available)

  • Live streaming of lectures, meetings & other events

  • Certificate and a report from your teachers
